    Resume Summary Guide

A summary should make your fit obvious in seconds. Keep it short, role-specific, and backed by real proof—not buzzwords.

    What a strong summary does

    • Makes your target role obvious.
    • Signals domain fit (industry/context).
    • Includes 1–2 concrete proof points (scope, tools, outcomes).
    • Mirrors the job description’s top themes honestly.

    The 3–5 line template

[Role] with [X years] in [domain], focused on [2–3 themes]. Proven track record in [tools/scope], delivering [outcomes]. Seeking [target role] in [industry/company type].

    Common summary mistakes

    • Too generic (“results-driven”, “team player”, “hard-working”).
    • No target role (reads like you’re applying to everything).
    • No proof (no scope, no tools, no defensible outcomes).

    Make it job-specific

Use Job Description Matcher to extract requirements, then mirror the top themes in your summary (and prove them in bullets).
